When Time Becomes a Bespoke Work of Art
It all began with a request from the UK, from a client with refined taste and a clear vision: to create a wall clock that could decorate—with both functionality and beauty—the majestic entrance of her seaside home.
The hall was spacious, with high ceilings and a navy blue wall that seemed to be waiting for just the right element to complete it. It wasn’t just about a clock—it needed to be a scenic, one-of-a-kind object, capable of capturing attention without being overwhelming. Something with soul, with an elegant and airy presence.
The Idea Takes Shape
After the first conversations, we got to work in our Trieste workshop. We listened, imagined, and sketched. The request for a nautical aesthetic led us to an iconic symbol: a wind rose, delicately carved and as light as a breeze. The entire piece was finished in monochromatic white, creating a striking contrast with the deep blue of the wall.
The diameter? Almost two meters. An imposing size, certainly—but visually light thanks to an openwork and airy design, crafted to enhance the space without weighing it down.
Invisible, Yet Essential Technology
But beauty alone wasn’t enough. It had to be reliable, practical, and silent. The clock was to be installed high up, out of reach. It needed to self-regulate the time, last for years without maintenance, and keep perfect accuracy.
The solution? A Swiss radio-controlled mechanism, automatically syncing with the time signal, combined with electric power supply and backup battery. No battery changes, no interruptions. Always on time, always silent.
From Trieste to the UK: A Journey Without Surprises
Creating such a large, fully custom wall clock 2000 km away required organization, precision, and great care. We built everything in our workshop, tested every component, preassembled the mechanism, verified the balance and movement of the ultra-light hands, designed to span 120 cm in diameter.
Then we disassembled it with surgical precision, packed it on a pallet to protect it during transport, and included detailed technical documentation to guide the local installer step-by-step. No detail was left to chance.
Time, at Last, Found Its Home
When the clock was finally installed, the client sent us a series of stunning photos, thrilled with the result. The object we had imagined together now truly lived in that space, completing it with grace and quiet majesty.
It was a tailor-made project, brought to life with passion and an eye for detail. A wall clock, yes. But also a story of listening, trust, and beauty.
