Karl is a wall clock with an architectural presence.
A clear square, a large circle, a curved cut-out and two long hands come together in a composition that plays with balance, depth and emptiness. Nothing feels accidental: each line seems to cross another, each surface creates tension, each shadow brings the clock to life.
Karl is more than a clock. It is a graphic object for modern living spaces, minimalist interiors and rooms where design does not need to be loud in order to be noticed.
The layered structure gives the clock a distinctive spatial effect: the large circle emerges from the surface, while the rectangular body brings calm and clarity. The result is a play of geometry and movement that appears slightly different depending on the point of view.
Handcrafted in Italy, Karl combines precise lines, careful workmanship and a very quiet movement in an object that not only complements the space, but gives it character.
Materials
Our handcrafted creations are made of wood and painted MDF, depending on the colour versions considered. Medium Density Fibreboard (MDF) is a wood derivative that lends itself to being shaped and painted. The wood finishes are open-pore in order to emphasise the real characteristics of the grain. The knobs are made of a very robust alloy and are dimensioned to have an excellent grip as well as an excellent capacity, which makes them suitable for any type of garment.
Mechanisms Our wall clocks are equipped with the best German-made mechanisms. Each model is assigned the mechanism according to the characteristics of the dial and the weight of the hands. Operation is powered by an AA battery and is totally silent. All mechanisms are tested in the laboratory during quality control.
HandsWe do not use plastic hands but only aluminium hands. The hands are moulded from particularly light aluminium foil to ensure optimum consistency but at the same time perfect calibration for the operation of the mechanism.
Varnishes
Painting is done by hand using an airbrush. We only use water-based paints through which we achieve a perfect finish while respecting the environment and improving the healthiness of the working environment. Each creation is hand-painted and undergoes at least 5 treatments before undergoing quality control. The finish is satin.
Accessories
Included in the package is a high-quality Varta battery for operating the mechanism. Also included are the screw and dowel for secure wall installation.

Quality All of our creations, before leaving the CalleaDesign workshop, undergo strict quality controls concerning aesthetic finish as well as mechanical reliability. This is why all mechanisms are tested in-house before being installed.
